Examples of Complete Calculations
All examples use the current plans (see "Pricing Plans — Overview"). Reminder: there is no proration — any plan switch charges the full price of the new plan and starts a new 30-day cycle.
Example 1: First Activation of a Paid Plan
Date: December 1. Current plan: Starter (free). New plan: Pro ($99). Balance: $500.
The full price is charged: $99. New period: December 1 — December 30.
Balance: $500 → $401. Pro limits: 15,000 events, 3,000 PWA installs, 3 members.
Example 2: Mid-Period Upgrade
Pro activated on December 1 (period until December 30). On December 15 — upgrade to Business ($399). Balance: $1,000.
The full Business price is charged: $399. New period: December 15 — January 13.
The remaining 16 days of the Pro plan are not compensated — no refund, no credit.
Balance: $1,000 → $601. Full Business limits: 25,000 events, 15,000 PWA installs, 15 members. Usage counts from zero from the moment of the switch.
Example 3: Upgrade After Overages
Pro plan (15,000 events limit). 20,000 events used → overage of 5,000 → 5 blocks × $0.07 = $0.35 already paid.
December 20 — upgrade to Business: $399 is charged, a new cycle starts December 20 — January 18.
The previously paid $0.35 is not refunded — it is payment for resources consumed in the old period.
In the new cycle the event counter starts from zero: a new overage charge appears only after another 25,000 events (the Business limit).
Example 4: Switching to a Same-Price Plan
December 15: switching from Pro ($99) to Tracker Pro ($99). Balance: $1,000.
The price is the same, but this is a full plan switch: $99 is charged and a new period starts December 15 — January 13. Balance: $1,000 → $901.
Tracker Pro limits: 1,200,000 events, 5 members, no PWA installs included. Usage counts from zero.
Note: on Tracker Pro every new PWA install after the switch is billed at $0.04 — the Tracker line has no included installs.
Example 5: Extra Team Members (Proration)
Business plan, 15 members included. On day 15 of the cycle the team grows to 17 active members → overage of 2.
15 days remaining → price: ($8.00 × 15) ÷ 30 = $4.00 per member.
Total charge: 2 × $4.00 = $8.00. Team members are the only metric with prorated pricing.
Example 6: Insufficient Balance at Renewal
Pro plan ($99), period ends December 30, balance is $50.
On December 30 the renewal fails: no money is charged, the plan switches to the Suspended status, and in-app and email notifications are sent.
On January 2 the team tops up $100 → the plan is renewed automatically right after the funds are credited: $99 is charged, new period January 2 — January 31.
While the plan was suspended, overage discounts did not apply.
