Servers: clear reasons why a domain is not activating

A domain pointed to your server with the proxy agent could sit in the “Registration” status for hours with no explanation. Now the platform shows what blocks activation and checks the server already while connecting it.

  • Domains: if the availability check fails during activation, the reason (for example, a 502 response or a timeout) is shown right away in the “Health” column and among the domain’s autocheck problems. The check is retried automatically every 10 minutes.
  • Servers: when connecting a server, the platform verifies that port 80 is free and, after the install, that the agent responds. Otherwise the setup ends with a clear reason and the last lines of the agent log in the install log.
  • Servers: if the agent is reporting but its nginx is not listening on port 80 (most often the port is taken by another web server), the server list shows the “nginx is not listening on :80” tag with a hint on what to check.
  • Notifications: you get notified about this problem the same way as about a server being unavailable, and again when it is back. Requires the current agent version — update it from the server menu.

Where to find it: Domains → “Health” column; Domains → Servers → “Agent” column.
