Conversion Statuses and Postback Configuration

When working with CPA networks, it is important to correctly process conversion statuses that come in postback.
Based on this status, Adset understands what happened: a registration, a deposit, or another event.

How Affiliates Send Postback

Different CPA networks have two main approaches to sending postback:

Option 1: One Global Postback URL

In this case, the affiliate uses one URL for all events, and the type of conversion is passed through a parameter (macro).

Example:

https://adset.pro/postback/?clickId={ref_id}&status={status}&revenue={sum}&currency={currency}

How it Works:

  • {status} — dynamic value (for example: lead, sale, reg, deposit)

  • the affiliate itself substitutes the required status when calling postback

If a global postback URL is used, it is necessary:

👉 to add all possible status values in the affiliate program settings in Adset.pro

Why This Is Necessary:

  • when the postback arrives, Adset receives a string (for example sale)

  • the system must understand what this means (for example: deposit)

If statuses are not configured — conversions may:

  • not be determined correctly

  • not be sent to the traffic source

Option 2: Separate Postback URLs for Each Status

Some affiliates use a separate URL for each type of event.

Examples:

Registration (lead):

https://adset.pro/postback/?clickId={ref_id}&status=lead

Deposit (sale):

https://adset.pro/postback/?clickId={ref_id}&status=sale&revenue={sum}&currency={currency}

How It Works:

  • the status is set statically in the URL. Specify exactly the status that corresponds to the status in Adset.pro

    • If in the Postback Status Template for Deposit the value sale is specified, that is exactly what needs to be substituted in the postback URL
  • the affiliate simply calls the required URL depending on the type of event

In this case:

👉 you set the status value yourself in the link, it must correspond to the value specified in the Partner Program status template settings

Key Point

Regardless of the approach: status values must match the settings of the postback status templates in Adset

Recommendations

  • Use clear and consistent values:

    • lead — registration

    • sale — deposit

  • Do not mix different names (reg, lead, signup) without setting up correspondences

  • Always test postback through a test call

Create a test campaign without any filters, leading to the offer of the Partner Program. Click on the campaign link and make a test registration.

Check if the postback from the partner program has arrived at Adset.pro

Conclusion

  • Global postback → status comes through a macro → mapping needs to be set up in Adset

  • Separate postback → status is set manually → it is important to specify the correct value
