URL pixels: warning and auto-deactivation on partner failures

If an affiliate network stops accepting postbacks from a URL pixel, you will hear about it in advance rather than by noticing missing conversions. The platform counts consecutive failed sends: it first warns the pixel owner and, if the partner still never responds successfully, deactivates the pixel.

  • Warning: after 10 consecutive failed postbacks, provided the streak has lasted at least 3 hours. The notification shows the number of failures, how long the streak has lasted, the last error and the partner's response.
  • Auto-deactivation: after 20 consecutive failures and at least 6 hours without a single successful send. For 404/410 responses and an invalid address the thresholds are lower: 5 failures and 30 minutes for the warning, 10 failures and 1 hour for deactivation.
  • Both conditions are required: hundreds of failures during a partner's short outage will not deactivate the pixel, and neither will a couple of failures per day on a low-volume pixel. A failure is counted once all retries are exhausted, and any successful send resets the streak.
  • After deactivation: check the postback URL and the partner's availability, turn the pixel back on and resend the failed postbacks from Pixel Logs — they are not retried on their own.
  • URL pixels only: Facebook, TikTok, Google and Telegram pixels follow their own rules.

Where to find it: notifications — the “Pixel deactivated” event in your profile's notification settings; Pixels → the “Active” toggle; Logs → Pixel Logs → resend.
